Joseph Eybler - born nine years after Mozart - composed a 4-movement work for the classical string trio formation.
A trio whose musical standards can hardly be compared with Mozart's Divertimento for string trio, which nevertheless represents a pleasing and enjoyable oeuvre in which the viola in particular shines through demanding and sustaining passages.
