Dvořák: Trio "Terzetto" for 2 violins and viola or cello op. 75a

The 4 - rather shorter - movements are characterized by elegiac cantabile on the one hand and rhythmic conciseness on the other. A finely worked out work which perhaps - albeit wrongly - stands somewhat in the shadow of the larger and better-known Terzetto op.74 for the same instrumentation.

A short time later, Dvořák reworked this composition - written in 1887 - into a work for violin and piano, which was published for the first time in 1887 under the title "Romantic Pieces".

A transposition of the viola part for cello and a full score are included with the edition.
